Abstract
This research and development aims to 1) developing students worksheet based on HOTS in systems of linear equation with two variables using environmental context, and 2) to test the validity and the practicality of students worksheet based on HOTS in systems of linear equation with two variables using environmental context. This research is a research and development study with the Plomp development model which consists of three phases, namely the prelimenary investigation phase (fase investigasi awal), the development phase or prototype (fase pengembangan atau prototipe), and the assessment phase (fase penilaian). This research is only carried out until the development or prototype phase (fase pengembangan atau prototipe) to develop students worksheets based HOTS and to test the validity and practicality of student worksheet based on HOTS. The prelimenary investigation phase consists of the needs analysis, the student analysis, the curriculum analysis, and the concept analysis. The development or prototype phase consists of designing the initial design of product and evaluating through self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation and small group. Validity test is done through an assessment by media experts and mathematics teachers in class VIII at the expert review stage. At the one-to-one evaluation stage, interviews were conducted with 2 students of class VIII to find out the shortcomings of the student worksheets. Practicality assessment was carried out through legibility test of the students worksheet based on HOTS to 6 students of grade VIII in small group. Data collection techniques used were interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis process of the interviews was conducted with descriptive analysis, while the results of the validity and practicality questionnaire were analyzed with descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of the validity test showed that the student worksheet based on HOTS met the validity criteria with a score of 3,385. The results of the practicality test showed that the student worksheet based on HOTS met the practicality criteria with a score of 3,288. Based on the validity and the practicality that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the student worksheet based on HOTS in systems of linear equation with two variables using environmental context is appropriate for use in learning.
