Abstract

Appropriateness of Assessment Skill Listening to News on Indonesian Language Learning in SMP N 2 Cawas Klaten with Evaluastion Principles.The assessment of news listening skills in SMP N 2 Cawas is not in accordance with the existing evaluation principles. The results of the teacher's study still use the principle of random grading, and the adoption of student habits in learning. This is caused by the lack of understanding of the teacher in determining the reference in the assessment and the professionalism of the teacher. The problems examined in this study are (1) how is the process of evaluating news listening skills. (2) tools used in learning to listen. (3) Obstacles experienced in learning assessment listening to the news. This research was conducted in three stages, namely pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II with the target teacher being able to carry out the assessment with the existing evaluation principles. Based on the results of data analysis in the pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II it can be concluded that there are improvements experienced by teachers and students in the process of learning listening skills and assessment of listening skills in the news. Based on the teacher pre-cycle that refers to the lesson plan and the evaluation principles reached 45%, and in the first cycle has increased by 60%, marked by the teacher's awareness of the importance of reference assessment in the lesson plan that has been made. And the beginning of the teacher uses the lesson plan as a reference in learning. In cycle II there was a 20% increase in assessing listening skills, marked by the teacher starting to use appropriate teaching media in the lesson plans and starting to assess students in more detail in learning to listen to the news.
