Abstract
There are two types of business that someone can choose to work is informal and formal. Informal business itself is a small business to medium enterprises and formal business is medium to large business. The Central Statistics agency Data shows that high VAT growth only comes from the formal sector. Open business opportunities in the informal field can not be utilized to the fullest. Based on the problem, this research aims to understand and describe the factors that affect the success of entrepreneurs. The research informant consists of five entrepreneurs engaged in different businesses who have pioneered the business more than five years and have more than one branch. The method used in this research is a qualitative method of using data collection techniques with semi-structured interviews and using the inductive data analysis technique. Five entrepreneurs in this research has a field of business in the field of convection business, culinary business, the business field of hair cutting services, from the fifth field of business type only business in the field of hair cut services using more capital than other businesses. The results of this research can be concluded factors that affect the success of two, internal factors include motivation related to the encouragement of entrepreneurs in achieving success, experience and knowledge related to the ability to plan Business activities that have been done before, the spirit and attitude of individuals. External factors include the family environment, workplace environment relating to the comfort and relationship with the partners then capital access is related to the initial step that is undertaken in entrepreneurship.
