Abstract
ABSTRACT Improved performance in a hospital is a description of the seriousness of various parties including nurses in carrying out the nursing process to the patient optimally. The decline in the performance of nurses can be influenced by several factors mainly the work of nurses motivating factor in itself. Motivation is a condition that can affect, stir, move, and maintain a person's behavior in carrying out the work to achieve the goal. This study aims to reveal the motivation of nurses working in nurses alumni of UMS. This research method using quantitative descriptive research with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used is proportional sampling. The number of respondents in this study were 90 nurses alumni of UMS. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results of the most characteristics of respondents aged 26-35 years (66.6%), female gender (57.8%), class of 18 and graduated on 2018 (22.2%), salary 2-3 million (43.3% ), and workplaces in Central Java (48.8%). The result of intrinsic motivation with the highest mean there is a statement want to achieve success in work obtained the value of 3.52, while the results of intrinsic motivation with the lowest mean there is dissatisfaction with the position obtained the value of 2.60. The result of extrinsic motivation with the highest mean there is in harmony with colleagues obtained the value of 3.34 whereas extrinsic motivation results with the lowest for the dissatisfaction mean values obtained salary of 2.67. Results of work motivation in nurses Nurses Alumni UMS as many as 16 alumni (17.7%) included in the high category, 65 alumni (72.2%) in the medium category, and as many as 9 of alumni (10%) included in the low category. The conclusion of this research is the work motivation of nurses included in the medium category. Keywords: Nurses, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, work motivation.
