Abstract

This is studi aims to describe, (1) the structure of the novel Tangan Kelima creation Christian Armantyo, (2) courage of the characters in the novel Tangan Kelima with literature psychology review, (3) relenvance as teaching material in high school. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive method. This research ini the form of words, sentences, paragraphs, and RPP K13. The primary source of this research is the novel Tangan Kelima creation Christian Armantyo, and secondary sources are novel Tangan Kelima, national journals. The object of this research is the courage of the figures in the novel Tangan Kelima by Christian Armantyo: a review of psychological literature. In collecting data used note taking techniques. The data collection technique used is sampling technique. Data analysis techniques in this study used content analysis. From the results of this study it can be concluded: (1) the structure of the novel Tangan Kelima includes: (a) themes: adventurers; (b) fisth characters: Rantau overseas are polite, impatient, curious, while additional characters are: Mother, affectionate and caring; Mira, jealous; Elora, selfish; Mr. Adang, friendly and kind; Daan is brave and uplifting; Anna, friendly; Leona, friendly; Reynal, seriously; Mr. Karno, firm and confident; Hendri, arrogant; Rifky, reserved and resigned; Mr Rusdi, astonished; Nando, kind and jealous; Mr Pranoto, all in all know; Rasyid, firm and arrogant; Bintang, humble; (c) forward flow; (d) background: campus, Cikampek toll road KM 18, home police station, boarding house, east Senayan parking lot, Jakarta, Javanese palace. Setting the time of morning, afternoon and evening. The setting of atmosphere: happiness, sadness, anger, tense anxiety, (e) the perspective of the first person who knows everything “he”, (f) mandate: do not easily give up in finding things that have not yet been achieved. (2) the courage of the characters in the novel Tangan Kelima with literary psychology reviews include: (a) courage in resisting a friend’s selfishness, (b) courage in finding the truth, (c) courage in saving yourself from enemies, (d) courage in finding books, (e) courage in resisting high curiosity, (f) courage in fighting fear of empty spaces and people around, (3) the relevance of novel Tangan Kelima by Christian Armantyo with Indonesian language learning toward basic competencies (KD) 3.9 Analyzing the content and language of novel in class XII.
