Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to describe the direction of skill learning in actualizing independence of special need’s students in SMALB Negeri Ungaran in daily life; (2) to describe the principal’s collaboration in actualizing independence of special need’s students in SMALB Negeri Ungaran in daily life and (3) to describe society role in assisting independence actualization of special need’s students in SMALB Negeri Ungaran in daily life. This research uses qualitative method and case study approach. Data collecting uses in-depth interview, observation and ducumentation. In data validity, Source, Technique and Time triangulations ared used. While the interactive data analyses employs data reduction, data display and drawing conclusion. The results of the research : (1) the perpose of skill learning is focused on life skills by managing their daily personal activities and skills for working or being entrepreneour, the students learn functional skill, community and social based skills; (2) The principal actualized students’independence through curriculum orientation, counselling and teaching approach based on the students’need and ability and integrated to the real life so that the students get the life skills to be implemented after graduating; (3) society has taken important roles in assisting the special need’s students by giving training and social access through government institution, companies and non government organizaion for job training, workshop and vacancies.
