Abstract

Writing activities, pouring concepts or ideas into a writing that uses a writing conventions that are in accordance with the form of writing to be made. This study aims to: 1) Describe the use of subordinative and coordinating conjunctions in the essays of class VIII students at SMP N 2 Kalijambe in the 2016/2017 Academic Year Assessing the use of the two conjunctions is the path written by students of class VIII in SMP N 2 Kalijambe in the 2016/2017 Academic Year. This type of research is qualitative research and research design used with qualitative descriptive methods. Data and data sources in this study were collected and the results of students' essays. the data validity assessment technique used in this study is the research triangulation technique. The results showed that the accuracy of the use of conjunctions in students 'narrative essays was still low and students' ability to compose was not good.
