Abstract
THE RELATION BETWEEN NUTRITION KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE WITH FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS OUTPATIENTS IN RSUD IR. SOEKARNO, SUKOHARJO REGENCY Introduction : Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a disease that is ranked 7th in the world as a factor of death. Diabetes mellitus type 2 in RSUD Ir.Soekarno Sukoharjo reached 47.7% in 2017. Diabetes mellitus type 2 attacks at the age above 45 years. Because this age has decreased physiological, anatomical and biochemical systems in the body that have an impact on increasing insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is related to life changes. Life changes affect nutritional knowledge and attitudes. Knowledge is very important for controlling blood glucose levels. Patients with diabetes mellitus who have enough knowledge about diabetes, will then change the mindset in responding to the decisions taken. Afterward it will be processed and digested so as to produce good behavior. Objective : to determine relation between nutritional knowledge and attitudes with fasting blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus outpatients in RSUD Ir.Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency. Method : This research is observational with cross sectional approach. Research subjects by 36 respondents. Sampling with a consequtive sampling system. Nutrition knowledge and attitude data obtained through interviews and questionnaires that have been validated with α-cronbach for nutritional knowledge of 0.69 and α-cronbach for attitudes of 0.738 and for fasting blood glucose levels obtained from laboratory results with normal: 70-110 mg/dl. Data analysis using the Spearman Rank test Results : the results showed that there is no relation between nutritional knowledge with fasting blood glucose levels of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (p=0,407) and there is no relation between attitude and fasting blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patiens (p=0,458) Conclusion : there is no relation between nutritional knowledge and attitude with fasting blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus outpatients in RSUD Ir.Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency.
