Abstract

The success of the learning system of biology can be determined by the product and process of learning. To have a certain quality in learning, it needs the management supporting the reach of the goal in learning. The goal of the research are to describe the learning management of Biology at SMP 1 Muhamadyah 1 Kartasura. It covers (1) the process of leraning plan, (2) the process of learning activity, (3) the process of learning evaluation, (4) the obstacles faced by the students for the learning activity, and (5) the solution of the teacher to help the students to understands the material. The type of the research is CAR ( Classroom Active Research ) by using the quantitative method and the design of ethnographic reserach. The technique of collecting data used by the writer is observation, interview and documentation. The technique of the data analisys is in the modle of cicles, as follows : the writter groups and sellect the data based on the quality of truth gotten from the research, then the writer draw and conclude the result to answer the problems. The results of the research show that : (1) in the process of learning plan, the teacher set the learning media up and follow the training before the next academic year, (2) the implementation of learning is adjusted in the learning media. It combined the method of lecture and the method of cooperative, (3) to evaluate the knowledge of the students, the teacher used non – test and test to measure the ability of the students cognitive, ( 4) there are some obstacles from internal and external factors influencing the difficulties of the students for following the learning process. (5) the use of analysis of assessment results can be utilized to improve learning activities to become more effective and efficient.
