Abstract

The background of this research was by the need to increase knowledge about the volcanic eruption disaster considering Boyolali District is an area that vulnerable to volcanic eruptions. This study aims to (1) Know the development of animated video (Adobe Flash) regarding volcanic eruption education in grade VII students at SMP N 1 Nogosari (2) Ddetermine the increase in knowledge of grade VII students at SMP N 1 Nogosari Boyolali about volcanic eruption disasters using video animation instructional media (Adobe Flash), the type of research was Research and Development (R n D), with the model of Dick & Carrey. The subjects of this study were VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Nogosari Boyolali, and Social Sciences Teachers. The results showed that animated video media created through validation by media experts and material experts with an average rating of 4.9 under the category of "WORTH", the development of video using Talking Stick learning strategies runs well and conducive. Student learning outcomes in the control class and experiments with pre-test and post-test increase. The average value of the pre-test control class was 51.43 and the post-test value has an average value of 69.13. The average value of the experimental class in the pre-test is 49.14 and the average value of the post-test was 72.25. then it can help increase knowledge about the volcanic eruption after receiving the use of video. Based on the results of the T-test pretest and posttest data showed a significant value of 0,000 which means <0.05. This shows that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, as evidenced by the results of class VII students 'learning outcomes at SMP N 1 Nogosari after there was the development of animated video (Adobe Flash) to increase students' knowledge of volcanic eruptions.
