Abstract
Abstract Intensity of social interaction carried out by persons with disabilities plays an important role in the confidence of persons with disabilities within the Social Rehabilitation Center for Physical Disabilities (BBRSPDF) Prof. Dr. Soeharso.The purpose of this study to find out the relationship between self confidence and the intensity of social interaction of persons with disabilities. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a relationship between self-confidence and the intensity of social interaction of persons with disabilities. The population in this study is the beneficiaries (PM) who are in the Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Physical Disabilities (BBRSPDF) Surakarta with ages 17-30 years who can read and write a total of 50 people. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The method used is quantitative with a measuring instrument in the form of Social Interaction Intensity Scale and Confidence Scale. Data analysis was performed by correlating product moments from Pearson by using the SPSS for Windows version 16 assistive program. Based on the results of data analysis, the correlation coefficient value was 0.741 with sig. = 0,000 (p <0.05) means that there is a positive and very significant relationship between social interactions and self-confidence. Contribution of effectiveness (SE) social interaction has an effect on self-confidence of 54.8%, and there are still 45.2% of other variables that affect self-confidence in addition to social interaction. The intensity variable of social interaction has a relatively low empirical average (RE), and the confidence variable has an empirical average (RE) which is relatively low.
