Abstract
The purpose of this study are: 1) describe the planning of outdoor learning methods in instilling the character of curiosity and communicative,; 2) describe the implementation of outdoor learning methods in instilling the character of curiosity and communicative,; 3) describe the evaluation of the application of outdoor learning methods in instilling the character of curiosity and communicative. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used interactive analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusions. The validity of the data in this study uses technical triangulation and source triangulation. The results showed that: 1) Planning of outdoor learning methods in Aisyiyah Unggulan Gemolong Elementary School, teachers use syllabus and lesson plans as a reference so that learning activities are more directed and run effectively and efficiently. As for the learning media used, namely from natural media around or from other media that are needed,; 2) the implementation of the outdoor learning method consists of 4 stages including: introduction, core, closing, and evaluation. The obstacle of teachers in instilling the character of curiosity and communicative through the application of outdoor learning methods that there are students who are not focused when the material is like students busy themselves, so that inhibits students in expressing ideas of thought and creativity when learning, and there are students who are passive when discussing that is students are less participate in groups or in answering questions from the teacher. The solution to the application of outdoor learning methods in instilling the character of curiosity and communicative in students of Class II Hafsah Binti Sirrin namely the teacher overcomes it by dividing students into study groups, the teacher also conditions the class by reminding students about the rules that have been mutually agreed upon, the teacher groups students who are seen quiet with close friends so that students can be more active in discussing with group friends and answer questions from the teacher, besides that the teacher also takes an individual approach to students who are quiet,; 3) Evaluation of the application of outdoor learning methods in instilling the character of curiosity and communicative in class II Hafsah Binti Sirrin ie the teacher makes direct observations on changes in student attitudes based on attitude assessment guidelines, the teacher collects attitude assessment for 1 semester and follows up when sharing raport namely the teacher makes a description by giving input or suggestions so that students make improvements.
