Abstract

The purpose of this research was 1) described the awards in a novel Kapten Bhukal The Battle of Alas Tua based on maksim award, 2) described character education in a novel Kapten Bhukal The Battle of Alas Tua, and 3) implement maksim the prize in Kapten Bhukal The Battle of Alas Tua as material learning the indonesian language. Data collection in this study used technique note. The method of analysis of data used the method padan. The object of this research is maxims award and character education in novels captain bhukal the battle of old pedestal. The analysis of the research is 43 maxims award consisting of 15 maxims recognition for greatness, the 11 maxims of intelligence, 7 maxims respect for courage, 4 maxims recognition for wisdom, 3 maxims recognition for good, 1 maxims recognition for toughness, 1 maxims recognition for beauty, and 1 maxims recognition for success. And there are 14 data character education consisting of 2 character education and unity, 2 character education hard work, 1 independent character education, 1 character education tolerance, 2 character education appreciate achievement, 1 caring environment character education, 3 3 friendly character education, and implement maksim recognition for learning the indonesian language contained in kd 4.10 class X.
