Abstract

Music art extracurricular activities at Cengklik Surakarta Public Elementary School are held to realize students' knowledge and skills. This study aims to describe the way teachers in instilling the character of curiosity and creativity as well as describing the obstacles and solutions faced by extracurricular teachers in extracurricular music art activities in the upper classes at SDN Cengklik Surakarta. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive qualitative research design. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses the triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis techniques using interactive models. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The implementation of extracurricular music art in instilling the character of curiosity by discussing the learning of music art and responding to things that are not yet understood by students (2) The implementation of music art extracurricular in instilling creative characters, by way of appreciating the sense of beauty and happy to try new things (3) The constraints in implementing extracurricular music art are too many students and inadequate infrastructure, (4) Solutions in implementing music art extracurricular teachers invite students to collaborate so that activities run well.
