Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study research on the process of making aluminum-mildsteel steel for micro-structures and mechanical properties. Specimens in this study used 6000 series aluminum, mild steel, alusol ER4043, and etching liquid. In this study the standard for specimen preparation is ASTM D1002. Micro-photo tests were performed to compare the surface conditions of aluminum and mild steel with no etching preparation. The SEM test was carried out to analyze the surface conditions of aluminum and mild steel in more detail and to analyze the microstructure of the brazed joints. The results showed the tensile strength increased with etching safety, the highest tensile strength was 27,924 MPa. While specimens without etching handling obtained a lower tensile strength of 9.267 MPa. Micro-photo testing produces a significant rotation between metals with and without the help of etching, clearly visible cracks or pores visible in the specimen by etching for 40 minutes. By using SEM, the diffusion that occurs at the Brazing joint with the etching arrangement that can be seen, is equipped with a certain different temperature.
