Abstract
This study aims to describe the accuracy, effectiveness, constraints, and solutions for the use of the Reading Guide combination of Numbered Head Together strategies to improve understanding of the value of patriotism in class VIII A students at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta in 2019. This study used a Pre-experimental method with design One Group Pretest Posttest and uses all the 20 people. Data collection techniques in this study used tests, observations, interviews and documentation. Data collection instruments using content validity with the formula for Correlation Product Moment rough numbers. The reliability of this research data uses the formula KR 20. The normality of the data of this study uses the Shapiro Wilk test. Data analysis using T-Test. The results showed that t count 10.526 was greater than t table 2.086 with a significance level of 0.05. The average pretest score of 6.70 increased to 8.75 at Posttest. Based on the results of the two Pretest and Posttest data, they are then compared to obtain a difference value of 2.05. Based on these results it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed by Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there was a difference in understanding the value of the Love of the Motherland after the socialization was carried out using the Reading Guide combination of Numbered Head Together strategies in Class VIII A students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta in 2019. These differences indicate an increase in the average score of understanding the value of Cinta Tanah Air from the results of the Pretest and Posttest.
