Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the husband's social support for his wife's post-birth first child. The research method used is descriptive qualitative data collected through interviews. Data obtained from four informants. The results of this study indicate that the husband's support obtained by the four respondents included emotional support, instrumental support, informational support and assessment support. Three of the respondents received all the support from their husbands because they had husbands who cared for and cared for their wives and became sponsors of their wives when they became new mothers. But there is one respondent who does not have the support of her husband. This is because the respondent's husband feels that his wife has received support from the family so the husband only needs to support him financially in order to meet his wife's needs in caring for the baby.
