Abstract
The purpose of this research is to (1) Increase students' knowledge about disaster management, (2) To determine the participation and role of students in earthquake disaster management in Bantul Regency, and (3) To train students to think critically, actively and can improve learning outcomes students. This research uses participatory learning and action methods using mind map. This research is an experimental study with one group pretest posttest design, namely there is no difference in treatment between classes one to another. Data collection techniques in the form of observations and instruments using pre-test and post-test with quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research that was obtained before it was applied was the average value of the XI IPS class 1 pre-test 59.8 and the XI IPS class 2 pre-test 60.8. After being treated the average value of students increased to post-test 73.7 and 77.0. The conclusions of this study are (1) The method that is applied effectively and can improve student learning outcomes, (2) learners' knowledge of earthquake disaster management can be seen from the results of the pre-test, (3) The application of the method carried out is very effective and can improve student learning outcomes.
