Abstract
The purpose of this research which is to enhance the ability of the solution of the mathematics’s problems by Problem Based Learning in the class VII A SMP N I Karangtengah. The type of research used is classroom action research. Data collection techniques use the method of observation, tests, field notes, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification or conclusion. The results of the study indicate an increase ability to solve mathematical problem with indicators: 1) The ability to understand the problems before there are actions as many as 3 students (10,7%), in the first cycle as many as 7 students (25%), and in cycle II there were 18 students (64,3%). 2) Ability to complete a problem solving plan before the action of 3 students (10,7%), in the first cycle as many as 9 students (32,2%), and in the second cycle as many as 19 students (67,9%). 3) Ability to solve the problem before the action as many as 2 students (7,1%), in the first cycle as many as 9 students (32,2%), and in the second cycle as many as 17 students (60,7%). 4) Ability to recheck answers before the action as many as 1 students (3,6%),in the first cycle as many as 8 students (28,6%), and in the second cycle as many as 14 students (50%).
