Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship between social support and optimism by the level of depression in the child in conflict with the law in the Children's Special Development Institute (LPKA) Klas I Kutoarjo. The subject in this study was a child in conflict with the law in the LPKA Klas I Kutoarjo which amounted to 50 people. The sampling techniques in this study used a total sampling. This research uses a quantitative approach. The data collection tools used in this study are the BDI scale to measure depressive levels, scale social support and optimism scales. Data analysis is performed with multiple regression analyses using the SPSS 16.0 for Windows Help program. Based on the analysis of data between variables of social support, optimism and depression gained F (count) by 15.562 and a significance equivalent of 0.000 (P < 0.01) indicating there is a very significant relationship between social support, optimism and The level of depression in children conflicted with the law at the LPKA Klas I Kutoarjo.
