Abstract

Prisilia Titin Anggraeni, A310140148, The Use of Implicature on The Conversation in Pidi Baiq’s Dilan: Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 Novel, Research Paper, Department of Indonesia Education, School of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Juli 2019. This research aims to reveal of implicature on the conversation in Pidi Baiq’s Dilan: Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 novel. The objective of this research is to know form of implicature in this novel and to know the meaning of the form implicature. Not only it, but also the researcher explains type of implicature in Pidi Baiq’s Dilan: Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 novel and also the function of the statement in form of implicature in this novel. The technique of analyzing data is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research show: Firstly, there are 38 forms of implicature. Secondly, the meaning of the form implicature itself which of these meanings many insinuated about teenagers life at this time. Third is type of implicature. There are 2 types of implicature which discussed in this research, conventional and non conventional implicature. Fourth is the function of each form implicature which studied in this research that are command functions, informative functions and question functions.
