Abstract
This study aims to determine the increase in understanding of the concept of line and arithmetic series with mind mapping learning models in class X SMK Gajah Mungkur Sidoharjo. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were class X A students of SMK Gajah Mungkur which numbered 25 students and mathematics teachers in class X A. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is interactive analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' understanding of concepts from before the action until the action is completed. This can be seen in the student reasoning indicators as follows: 1) restating a concept from before 35.36% of the action in the first cycle increased to 42.11% and in the second cycle increased to 75.33%. 2) give an example and not an example of a concept before being given an action 47.50% in the first cycle increased to 55.12% and in the second cycle increased to 74.17%. 3) presenting a concept in sharing the form of mathematical representation before being given 40% action in the first cycle increased to 53.3% and in the second cycle increased to 75.50%.
