Abstract
The city of Palu on 28 September 2018 was shaken by the earthquake with the power of 7.5 Scala Richter. The strength of the earthquake can cause building damage. The purpose of this research is to know the distribution of spatial and damage to social facilities (schools, health facilities, and offices) that are damaged by the earthquake. This method of research is based on the interpretation of the remote sensing image and the building damage level based on the European MacroSeismic Scale (EMS) in 1998. This research resulted in building damage spread from Class 1 to Class 4. Damage to social facilities in Palu city according to EMS-98 obtained several schools damaged Class 1 to Grade 3 namely SD Tondo, Mts Muhammadiyah Al Haq, SD N 1 Tanamodindi, while the breakdown of health facilities Class 1, 2 and grade 4 namely Hammer Puskesmas South, Undata Hospital, Anutapura Hospital. and office buildings that are damaged Class 1 to Class 3 namely the office of the Business, the Office of the Work and water resources, and the fire office. The conformity of image interpretation results with the field survey was 55%.
