Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the relationship between conformity of peers and bullying behavior. Subjects in this study were 250 senior high school student at SMAN 1 Karanganyar Demak with the criteria of class XI students. The sampling technique in this study used cluster random sampling. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection tool used in this study was the scale of peer conformity and the scale of bullying behavior. Data analysis using non parametric techniques and spearman's rho. The results showed that the value of the correlation coefficient (r) was 0.275, with sig. (1-tailed) of P = 0,001 (p ≤ 0,01) which means there is a significant positive relationship between peer conformity and bullying behavior. Positive relationships in this study indicate that the higher the peer conformity, the higher the bullying behavior occurs. On the contrary, the lower the peer conformity, the less bullying behavior occurs. Effective contribution of peers' conformity to bullying behavior is 7.2%.
