Abstract

One of conditions frequently examined in mental health research today is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurobehavioral condition including disorders in social interaction, language and communication development skills that combined with repeated behaviors and motoric disorders. Children with autism often experience impaired eye-hand coordination, eye-foot coordination, and balance disorders. The prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) especially in Indonesia is stated to be even greater so that this case should receive more attention, one of which is through the therapy process. To find out the benefits of Brain Gym and Play Therapy in the case of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). After 4 Brain Gym and Play Therapy therapies, there was an increase in Gross Motor’s ability to throw ball items namely T1 and T2 : (half successful/less succesful) to T3 and T4 : 3 (succesful). But on the item catching the ball, climbing the pedestal board, and jumping there has not been an increase, from T1 to T4 with a value of 1 (failed). The result of the evaluation on visual ability found that there was no increase, namely T1 to T4 remained with a value of 1 (there was a disturbance). Giving Brain Gym and Play Therapy modalities in the case of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can increase Gross Motor’s ability.
