Abstract

This study aims to find out the errors in learning experienced by students who result in learning outcomes that are not optimal because there are disturbances or obstacles. Analysis of student errors can be seen from the results of work on the problem. The subject of this study was in the fourth grade of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used include tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques performed include data reduction, data presentation, inference and verification. The validity of the data uses triangulation techniques. From the results of data analysis and pembahan can be concluded that: 1) Errors in the aspect of understanding the problem, the cause of this error students are wrong in understanding the meaning of the problem and wrong in making an example or defining the variables to be used, 2) Errors in aspects of planning a problem, causes from this error, students have a low ability to solve story problems and attitudes that are not habitual in dealing with story problems, 3) Errors in aspects of implementing a problem solving plan, the cause is wrong in using the operating rules or calculation correctly and inaccurate students, 4) Errors in the aspect of looking back, students are wrong in rewriting the answers from above to the last step
