Abstract

This research aims to describe volunteering activities and effects of volunteering in increasing students interpersonal skills. It used qualitative method with ethnography design. The data collecting method is done by observation and interview. The subjects of research was six students of UMS batch 2016 who joined volunteering in the campus from different activity of each. The object of research is encircled in UMS. The data validity used triangulation theory. The data anylisis method used data reducation, data presentation and data verification. This reseach resulted two point includin; a) students joining students organization such as HMP, BEM, LPM figure and kopma sharpened their interpersonal skill by sharing activities done involving program making, socialization and training; b) benefits obtanied by students after participating in volunteering activities namely leadership, communication skills, teamwork, problem solving, networking, time managemen and giving provisions in the workforce.
