Abstract

Health is the most important thing in human life, both physically, mentally and socially healthy. Problems that occur in individuals will make individuals adapt and adjust themselves to existing circumstances. But when individuals are unable to adapt to problems, individuals will experience maladaptive because of poor coping mechanisms that cause disruption to self-concept. Self-concept is a part of human self that is related to ideas, thoughts, beliefs and beliefs of individuals towards their own abilities. A person's self-concept can be disrupted due to someone's psychological condition being disturbed, for example in the case of TKR (Total Knee Replacment). This study aims to describe the self-concept of patients with TKR (Total Knee Replacment) cases at the RSO Prof. Dr.R. Soeharso Surakarta. This research is a type of quantitative research using descriptive survey methods conducted on 30 respondents with a quota sampling sampling technique. Research data collection uses a self-concept questionnaire: self-esteem totaling 25 statements. This study uses univariate analysis with central tendency analysis and a description of descriptive narative that aims to describe the characteristics of each research variable. The form of this univariate analysis is numerical which presents the mean value, median, standard deviation. The results of this analysis are in the form of a frequency distribution table. Characteristics of respondents in the inpatient room of the RSO Prof.Dr.R. Soeharso Surakarta is partly more than 51 years to 55 years old, female, and works as a farmer. An overview of self-concept: self-esteem in patients who carry out TKR surgery is moderate or sufficient self-esteem.
