Abstract

This research aims to describe students error at visualization, analysis, and informal deduction levels in solving problem plane geometri based on Van Hiele theory in the VIII grade of SMP Negeri 2 Colomadu. This research is a descriptive qualitative. This research is involving 27 students in grade VIII D SMP Negeri 2 Colomadu. Data collection method used in this research are test, interview, and documentation. Data analysis method used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, an conclution. The data validity is done by triangulation method, that is by comparing result of the test, interview, and documentation. The result of this research show that from 27 students, 15 students are at visualization level, 10 students are at analysis level, and 2 students are at informal deduction level. The error that done by students at visualization level are students can’t recognize and draw plane geometri according to their appearance. At the analysis level, students do error in identifying geometric plane based on their properties. The error of informal deduction level is students don’t know the relation between plane geometri.
