Abstract
This research aims to find out the development of teaching materials for the potential of Indonesia's natural resources, and the effectiveness of the development product of social studies on the subject of Indonesia's natural resources potential. The design of development model applied in this reasearch is Thiagarajan's 4D. The metodology of this reasearch is a pretest-posttest control group design with 50 students at Junior High School Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta. Development of teaching materials there are additional materials such as a) understanding of natural resources, b) Grouping of natural resources, c) natural conditions of Indonesia, d) potential of air resources, e) potential of land resources, f) Potential of water resources. The data analysis technique used is this reasearch is T test (t-test). The result of the control class research and experiment with pretest and posttest has increased. The average score of learning result of the control class is 57.59 and the posttest is 67.22, while the experimental results of the experimental class shows an average pretest score of 44.35 and a posttest value of 77.17. The results of the product assessment by Ali material and the media have an average value of 4.5 so the teaching material products of the potential of Indonesia's natural resources is "GOOD". The results of the T (t-test) control and experimental classes have significant values (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. There is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest, so the developed book on the potential of Indonesia's natural resources is effective.
