Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual problem in the form of pain that starts several hours before or during menstruation and lasts for 48 to 72 hours. The pain is usually not too severe and does not last long, but there are some women who feel pain that is severe enough to disrupt the activity even to not be able to move. Massage effleurage and deep breathing exercise are physiotherapy modalities that can decrease primary dysmenorrhea with a nonpharmacological approach.To find out the difference in the effectiveness of massage effleurage and deep breathing exercise on the reduction of primary dysmenorrhea in mahasantri putri PESMA KH. Mas Mansyur UMS. The type of research used is quasi experimental with a pre test and post test with two group design approach. The number of samples in this study were 20 people with sampling using purposive sampling which was divided into 2 treatment groups, namely group massage effleurage and deep breathing exercise. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Massage effleurage and deep breathing exercises are effective for reducing primary dysmenorrhea. Both of them have a significant effect with the same statistical test result value of 0,000. There is no difference in effectiveness between massage effleurage and deep breathing exercise on decreasing primary dysmenorrhea.
