Abstract

This study aims to 1) Analyze the feasibility of developing learning media, and 2) Analyze understanding to improve knowledge. The data needed for this study is a test of need. Validity test, validity test, T test and validation test. The development model adopted the development design by Sugiyono, using 6 stages of problem planning and identification, design, design validation, design revision, and product testing. And by using pretest-posttest control group design with 64 respondents namely class VII B as the control class, and class VII D as the experimental class. The data analysis technique used is the T-test. Results analysis methods are based on quantitative descriptors. The results of this study produced learning media in the form of pocket books with material on Indonesia's natural conditions and earthquake disaster preparedness. And the results of the analysis of student understanding are in the control class the average value of pretest 65 and the average score of posttest 78. While in the experimental class the average value of the pretest is 50 and increases with the posttest value 80.75. So that pocket book learning media can be declared suitable for use in improving students' knowledge of the material of Indonesia's natural conditions.
