Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the structure that built the Bangjo drama script by Harjito, (2) express social criticism contained in Harjito's Bangjo drama script, and (3) describe the implementation of the results of Harjito's Bangjo drama script as Indonesian literary teaching material in senior high school. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data sources obtained from Bangjo Harjito's playwriting amounted to 16 sheets. The technique of collecting data uses library techniques, listening techniques and notes, and snippet techniques. The data analysis technique in this study was carried out using the dialectical method. The results of this study were (1) the plot used by Harjito in the Bangjo drama script, namely the forward flow. The figure presented in the Bangjo drama script has four characters with the main character, Yu Manis. Furthermore, there are five supporting figures, namely Mas Darmo, Prayitno, and Mbak Tari. Implicitly, the time setting described is at night. The incident depicted in the Bangjo script took place in Angkringan Yu Manis with the depiction of being in a crowd point of the middle to lower society. This text adopts the story of the habits of the workers in their lives. (2) the form of social criticism contained in Harjito's Bangjo play is divided into four, namely criticism of social processes, criticism of social change, criticism of social problems and criticism of social structures and (3) Harjito's Bangjo drama script can be used as teaching material in the first semester of XI class high school with KD 1.2 and 1.3.
