Abstract

Pasar Gede is one of the largest market in Surakarta which operate for 24 hours. Pasar Gede has SPTI (Indonesia Transport Workers Union) organization with 40 male pelvis men. The porter do the work of coolie pelvis unloading from a truck heading to the kiosk traders with a load weighing 70 kg and above. The activities of loading and unloading is done by human power and using by trolli tools. The workload is carried, a long working time and rest periods are erratic be one trigger for the onset of work stress on the coolie pelvis. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship between work load with work stress on the coolie pelvis in Pasar Gede.The design of this research use the approach of cross sectional. The population in this study was 40 porters of the coolie pelvis. The techniques used in this sampling are the total sampling with a sample of 40 porters of the coolie pelvis. The result of this research with the test chi square value obtained p = 0.448 > 0.05 means there is no relationship. From the results, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between workload with work stress on the coolie pelvis in Pasar Gede. The Advice can be given to reduce the weight of the load being transported and to take advantage of a break as possible.
