Abstract
Abstract The survey results show that there is one HIV positive pregnant woman who is known to have HIV during pregnancy in Sragen. HIV positive pregnant women experience psychological disorders. The purpose of this study was to explore family support, especially husbands for HIV positive pregnant women in the prevention of HIV transmission from mother to baby in Sragen. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study approach and data collection using in-depth interviews. There were 1 main informant in this study, namely HIV positive pregnant women who were known to have HIV during pregnancy, while for triangulation informants there were 2, one cadre of peer support groups (KDS) Sukowati Sragen and husbands. The results showed that family support, especially husbands, provided good information, emotional, instrumental, and information support. The husband also provides HIV prevention support when the baby is still in the womb, at birth, and during breastfeeding. The role of the husband is very much needed in the process of preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV for the success of preventing HIV transmission from mother to baby who is still in her or is already born.
