Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) the role of the teacher in managing the class towards the learning interest of grade 3 students at Purbayan Elementary School 02, 2) the obstacles of teachers in managing the class towards the learning interest of grade 3 students at Purbayan Elementary School 02, 3) Solutions to overcome teacher obstacles in managing class on learning interest of grade 3 students at Purbayan Elementary School 02. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and data verification steps. Data validity checking techniques are carried out by source and technique triangulation techniques. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive research design. The informants in this study were grade 3 teachers and grade 3 students. The results showed that: 1) The role of the teacher in managing the class towards the learning interest of grade 3 students is: a) Organizing classes, b) Supervising students, and c) student learning interest increases. 2) The teacher's obstacle in managing the class towards the learning interest of the 3rd grade students is: a) there are still some students who are pacing in learning, b) there are some students who are easily affected by playing or chatting, and c) some students tend to get bored easily learning. 3) The solution to overcome the obstacles of teachers in managing the class towards the learning interest of grade 3 students, namely: a) approaching students, b) reminding students of the rules that have been made together, c) teaching aids in learning.
