Abstract
The purpose of this study was to (1) develop pop up book learning media in eighth grade junior high school social studies subjects flood material on sub topics of environmental problems and mitigation efforts, (2) find out the characteristics of pop up book learning media flood material on the sub-topics of environmental problems life and coping efforts. This research is a research and development research. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Gatak Sukoharjo with the sampling technique using random sampling. Data collection techniques using a validation sheet of media experts and experts in materials, questionnaires, and tests. The trial design in this study uses the One-Group Pretest Posttest Design. In this design before treatment students were given a Pretest (initial test) and at the end of the learning students were given a Posttest (final test). The results of this study are as follows: (1) the development of pop up book learning media for flood material in the sub-topic of environmental issues and its mitigation efforts are carried out in several stages, the first is to analyze the needs of students and teachers, then develop the product by compiling material in accordance with competency standards, basic competencies and learning objectives. The next stage is to create a media design and validation on the media experts and material experts, and the final stage is a trial conducted in small classes and large class trials by students. (2) the results of the media validity assessment by media experts were 93.33%. While the results of the assessment of material feasibility validation by material experts are 90%, which means that the developed media is very good. (3) The results of the t-test of a small class on the use of using SPSS 23 analysis. From the mean (mean) obtained the posttest value 94.47 is higher than the pre-test value with the results of 80.00, while from the average (mean) large class obtained 94.00 post test value is higher than the pre-test value with the result of 75.17 concluded that the Pop-Up Book media is able to improve student learning outcomes.
