Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the implementation of integrated thematic learning process theme of natural events in first grade mojoluhur state elementary school, (2) Describe the constraints faced by teacher in implementation integrated thematic learning, (3) Describe efforts taken to overcome the constraints of teacher in implementation integrated thematic learning. This research uses qualitative research with single case study design. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of the data using technical triangulation. Data were analyzed through the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the result of this research in the implementation of an integrated thematic learning process consisting of the planning stage, the implementation stage and the assesment stage. Constraints in the implementation of integrated thematic learning process include: 1) The teacher diffficulty in preparing the thematic lesson plan; 2) The inactivity and lack of students enthusiasem in participating in an integrated thematic learning; 3) Class management is’nt optimal; 4) Lack of mastery of integrated thematic learning model; 5) The method is less varied; 6) The teacher does’nt use a learning media; 7) The teacher has difficulty in carrying out an attitude aspect assesment. Efforts were taken related to constraints in the implementation of thematic learning integrated are teachers sharing and asking for guidance with peers, teachers make learning fun for students, teachers using methods and media that are both varied and teachers should carry out an assessment on all aspects of both the attitude, knowledge and skills.
