Abstract

In basketball players, thing that causes a defeat is the inability of the player to shoot properly. Shooting techniques a very important role in the basketball game, as the match victory is determined by the score. The precision of shooting can be affected by several factors such as: arm muscle strength, leg muscle strength, eye coordination, hand coordination which if the condition is good, then the player will be able to do the shooting with the right accuracy. so that basketball players can achieve the highest achievement. The purpose of this study is knowing the relationship vertical jump ability with prediction of shooting in basketball players. The method in this research is using crosecctional study, taking the sample using purposive sampling. Data analysis using pearson product moment Results of data obtained from the normality test showed a p> 0,05. Result of vertical jump correlation test with shooting accuracy is p <0,05 so that hypothesis accepted and seen from r value that is 0,828 and r (square) 0,685. And get the result 0.828> 0.685 then stated very strong relation. There is a vertical jump ability relationship with prediction of shooting in basketball players.
