Abstract

This study has two purposes. (1) Describe the principles of language courtesy contained in AR Fakhruddin drama script. (2) To describe the implementation of language politeness in AR Fakhruddin drama script into Indonesian language learning in high school. this type of research is qualitative with qualitative descriptive method. The research data is a sentence contained in the drama script. Technique of collecting data using observation method and note because the data in form of text. Validity in this study using source triangulation. The results of this study include the submission of language politeness in the play of AR Fakhruddin drama, namely: maxim of wisdom (12), maxim of acceptance (2), maxim of humility (4), maxim of generosity (1), maxim of compatibility (16), maxim conclusion ). There is also a violation of politeness of language including maxim of wisdom (1), maxim of acceptance (1), maxim of humility (1), maxim of generosity (1), maxim of compatibility (4), maxim of affinity (1). In the learning activities of Indonesian language using the method of discussion so that there are students who have complied with language politeness and not many students who violate the politeness of language but make the evaluation of learning for the better.
