Abstract
Computer assisted learning is excellent for integration in learning mathematical concepts. Various computer programs have been developed and can be used in learning mathematics, one of which is GeoGebra. This study is purposed to describe the application of mathematics learning using Geogebra application to improve the motivation and students achievement of material rectangular of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta. The design of this research classroom action research(CAR). In CAR, the step of the research consist of four step,they are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data analysis techniques used qualitative data analysis through three stages, namely reduction, analysis and data deduction. The result of research stated that the increase of learning result is shown from the percentage of students' completeness in the post test I 58.33% rose to 87.5% and the improvement of learning motivation is shown from the percentage of enthusiastic indicators in following the 83.33% learning, enthusiastically presenting the work result 79 , 16%, enthusiastic about 70,83% discussion and respond from other teacher or student 66,67%. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the application of learning using GeoGebra application can improve the motivation and students achievement of class VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta.
