Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the process of character education implementation through extracurricular scout activities and factors inhibiting the implementation of loving Homeland in SD Negeri Pilangsari 3 Sragen. This research type is qualitative descriptive. The method used in this research is the method of observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis that is data collectoin, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Validity of data in this research that is using triangulations of source and triangulation technique. The results of this study shows that the implementation of character education in extracurricular scout activities carried out by the coach from opening activities, core activities, until closing activities. Scout material is not written directly but through integration on scout material and activities. The habituation of character education activities in extracurricular activities of the Boy Scouts is to follow the flag ceremony with solemnity, to show the right attitude of respect to the Red and White Flag, to mention the Pancasila, able to sing the Indonesian National Anthem, can use a good and proper Indonesian language. However, there are some obstacles faced by coaches in integrating character education into extracurricular scout activities is character planting requires routine habituation process so that it cannot be applied only once, the background of learners are different characters, and a little time for scout activities
