Abstract

Outbound learning is a form of character education of learners. The purpose of this research are: (1) to describe outbound learning on second grade students at SD Muhammmadiyah Alam Surya Mentari; (2) to describe characters education through outbound learning; (3) to identify character values that can be strengthened through outbound learning. The research approach is qualitative with qualitative descriptive research type. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of research indicate that: (1) the implementation of outbound learning is designed according to the theme of classroom learning. Learning activities are divided into 3 namely heating, core activities and learning reflection; (2) implementation of character education in applied in learning in an integrative with outbound learning activities. Character education enters the outbound game through instructional planning, the application of learning through the delivery of game rules, game form, and reflection after the game; (3) the characteristics that can be strengthened in outbound learning are: Character confident, religious, honest, thoroughness, discipline, concentration, cooperation, never give up, passion for sharing, sympathy, empathy, spirit in one group, cooperation, responsibility, care about friends, leadership (leadership), care about the environment.
