Abstract
This study aims to understand student obedience at SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto. Description of student obedience focused on (1) description of disobedience at SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto, (2) factors affecting student obedience at SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto, (3) effectiveness of treatment to disobedience at SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto, and (4) psychological intervention design recommended to promote student obedience behaviour at SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto. This study used qualitative method, while data was collected by using open questionnaire and interview. The research participants was all student of SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto that is 587 students. The result of the study showed that (1) students showed average disobedience, where there are students who obey the rules and there are studentd who disobey the rules, while obedience carried by the students was not accompanied by acceptance to the rules, (2) factors affecting student obedience behaviour are peer attitude toward school rules, parents attitude toward school rules, and punishment (3) The treatment given has not been effective to promote student obedience, (4) Based on the result, program designs recommended are teacher-parents meeting, effective communication training and reflective writing.
