Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the relationship between fear of failure with achievement motivation basketball athletes Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The sampling technique used in this study is study population with technique incidental methods of data collection using quantitative approach with measuring scale of fear of failure and achievement motivation scale. While data analysis is done by nonparametric Spearman’s rho analysis using SPSS for 16 windows help program. Based on the results of data analysis obtained correlation coefficient of 0,049; significance (p) of 0,364 (p>0.05) which means there is no significant relationship between fear of failure with achievement motivation basketball athletes. Fear of failure variables have empirical mean (RE) equal to 68,61 which have moderate category, whereas achievement motivation variable has empirik mean (RE) equal to 82,78 so have high category.
