Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze and test the effect of labor market considerations, professional recognition, social values, work environment, personality, financial rewards and professional training on the election of a career as a public accountant by Accounting Students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Population in this study were all off the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Department of Accounting Program S-1.The sample of this study is the student majoring in Accounting of Faculty Economics and Business in 2014 generation as many as 85 respondents. Sample technique in this research used is purposive sampling techniques. Analysis method used is multiple linear regression, The results showed that the variables labor market considerations, professional recognition and work environment effect on the election of a career as a public accountant, while the social values, personality, financial rewards and professional training variables have no effect on the election of a career as a public accountant.
