Abstract

The purpose of this research is to test and analyze: (1) the significant effect of the implementation of mind-mapping learning discovery learning model on mathematics learning outcomes, (2) the significant effect of mathematical communication on mathematics learning outcomes, (3) the interaction of learning-based discovery learning model mind mapping and mathematical communication to mathematics learning outcomes. Quantitative research type with quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 3 Sragen which is located at Jl. Gatot Subroto No. 57, Sragen Kulon, Sragen Sub-district, Sragen Regency, Central Java 57121. Population in this research is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Sragen year lesson 2017/2018. The study sample consisted of two classes, namely experimental class and control class. The sampling technique in this study used cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques in this study using test methods, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis technique used two way analysis of variance analysis with unequal cell. The result of data analysis with significance level of 5% are: (1) there is significant effect of applying discovery learning model based on mind mapping to mathematics learning result, (2) there is significant influence of mathematical communication on mathematics learning result, and (3) the interaction between discovery learning model based on mind mapping with mathematical communication of students to mathematics learning outcomes.
