Abstract

Sexual education is very important to be taught to adolescents, especially adolescents with mental retardation (mental retardation). Teenagers with mental retardation generally lack information related to the development of sexuality. This is due to not obtaining information about sexual education from parents. Basically adolescent tunagrahita do not have enough courage to tell story, do not get information that can be obtained from article or book. The purpose of this research is to get the description and the design of training program of sexual education for parents with children with disabilities. This research method using open questionnaire method and observation checklist, with subject of research that is parent, especially mother of adolescent tunagrahita of medium category with amount of 43 people. The results showed that as many as 34.9% less material and knowledge about sexual education in adolescents, many parents who feel shy and assume taboo teaches sexual education in adolescents tunagrahita and lack of understanding and knowledge of parents about sexual education. Thus, the results of the study followed up by making the training of sexual education training for adult parents tunagrahita.
