Abstract
The aims of this study to examine and analyze: (1) the difference effect of students’ mathematics learning outcomes viewed from two different learning strategies (Students Teams Achievement Division and Two Stay Two Stray), (2) the difference effect of mathematics learning outcomes viewed from of levels problem solving skill, (3) the effect of interaction between strategies and levels problem solving skill on Mathematics learning outcomes. This study is a quantitative research with quasi experimental design. The population of this study is 150 students of 8TH grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta. Two classes were chosen for the sampel of this study by cluster random sampling. The first class was treated using strategies STAD and the second class using strategies TSTS. The data collection was conducted using test and documentation. The data was analized using different number off cell analysis of variance with 5%. The conclusion of this study are: (1) there is a difference effect on Mathematics learning outcomes viewed from two different learning strategies (STAD and TSTS), strategies STAD gives a better result of mathematics learning outcomes than strategies TSTS, (2) there is difference effect of mathematics learning outcomes viewed from of levels problem solving skill, students with high level of problem solving skills give results mathematics learning outcomes better than students with avarage or low level of problem solving skills. (3) there is no effect of interaction between strategy and levels problem solving skills on mathematics learning outcomes.
