Abstract

Background: Low back pain as a global health problem in the world ranked fifth in America as a condition requiring patient toask for professional help. Prolonged sitting are believed to be one of the risk factor causing low back pain. The research worked on in hope to finding if prolonged sitting does correlate with low back pain in internet operators. Methods: This was an observational study in case-control design. Subject of this study were all internet operators in Gonilan, Kartasura. at that day technique sampling is total sampling. Data analysis performed by bivariate analysis with fishure us specified significance level p <0.05 and to find out how strong the connection between Prolonged sitting and low back pain, used odds ratios (OR) with respect to Confidence Interval (CI 0, 95%) at α = 0.05. Results: Analysis of fishure bivariabel test no significant relationship between prolonged sitting with low back pain the value of p = 0,620. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between prolonged sitting with low back pain.
